Did you have a good friend in high school that you haven't talked to in a very long time?  Does this person come to mind every once in a while and you wonder what they are doing? Do you think to yourself that you need look them up and give them a call, but you just don't seem to get around to it.  You also convince yourself that maybe they don't remember you or you don't have anything in common anymore.  Stop talking yourself out of contacting them!

One thing I have learned being on the reunion committee is how fun it is to reconnect with friends.  It even has been a great experience getting to know classmates that I didn't know very well back 49 years ago, but now I can't imagine not having them in my life.

Don't delay any longer!  Take some time and call, send an email or a letter to that friend.  While you're at it, look up a second friend and reconnect.

Dave Ware and Dave Terry, recently got together for a visit.  Pam Share Slater and I, along with our husbands,  also got together for the most amazing tacos I have ever had.

So don't miss the opportunity, contact that friend.

 Reaching out!

Good morning, by now we have tried to reach out to each classmate we can find by either email or US Mail. We have sent over 200 letters through the US mail to try and contact those for whom we do not have a valid email address. To help reduce costs, we would like to use email whenever possible.  Many have not responded to the email, so please check your spam folders.

If for some reason, you have not been contacted, please send a notice through this blog, or email:

Aragon1973reunioncommittee@gmail.com.

We have over 90 classmates that keep in touch through our Facebook page: ARAGON reunion 2023 (class of 1973).   There are many in the FB group for whom we do not have emails, which we need in order to be effective in contacting each of you.

Any questions or suggestions, we are here to help!

Thank you, Martha

When was the last time you were able to visit the Aragon Highschool campus? Measure M back around 2011 allowed quite a few revitalization projects to be completed on the campus.  On a recent visit to San Mateo I had to go by the Aragon Campus and see what it looked like.  Wow! It looks so much nicer than it did when we attend Aragon.  There is a new classroom wing and a new Theater building.  There have been improvements to student services, centralized air conditioning and a renovated stadium with a new turf field, an all weather track, new bleachers with a press box and bathrooms.  Amazing!!

As part of the reunion activities we are trying to organize a tour of the Aragon campus.  It will be so nice to get a look of all the changes.  Maybe save a little extra time when you come to the reunion to enjoy some of the extra activities we are planning.   I know there is still a year to go before the reunion but there is still lots of things to get ready for all of you.  I can't wait to see you!

 Good afternoon,

The Reunion Committee is earnestly searching for all of our classmates, not just those that crossed the stage 49 years ago. Many graduated early, and some late. We are over 400 in number.

We are down to the following, that we could use some help in finding.

  • Marian Barker
  • Debbie Chavis
  • Paula DeYoung
  • James Hill
  • Collette Miller
  • George Moore
  • Theresa Morrison
  • Renee Pederson
  • Judy Pratali
  • Kenneth Charles Roberts
  • Richard Sanchez
  • Carla Waite
  • Tosia Foreman

Working together to plan this reunion has been a great experience. It has opened new friendships and deepened old ones. I just wish we didn't have to wait another year to all be together!

If you have leads on any of these people, you can always send a note, or respond the the committee email:

Aragon1973reunioncommittee@gmail.com

Thank you,  Martha

Good morning from the East coast, classmates!

This is Martha Hazen Henry, and I have been honored to be a part of the reunion committee. Some of us are working diligently to find our nearly 400 classmates including those that graduated early and late.

Soon, we will be sending out US mail to those that we do not have a working email. We will also be publishing a list of around 30 classmates that we cannot locate. And also, a list of those that have passed away.

50 years has been literally a life time. All of us have stories and experiences to share. When the committee recently met in San Mateo, I felt a kindred spirit. Time evaporated and shared experiences came into focus.

I urge each of you to reach out through this blog, the FB page, the email, or better yet, endeavor to attend the reunion next year.

All my best to each of you - I am eagerly awaiting to hear your stories!

Martha

Earlier this month the reunion committee met in San Mateo to work on a number of aspects of the reunion.  We did a taste test at the Elks club to finalize the menu selections and to further check out the facility.  I think you will be happy with the menu and the facility.  We also looked at various venues for a group picnic, met together to work on other topics and of course had some great fun along the way and really enjoyed being together.
